Great vocal coaching has to work beyond the lesson room. It should help you deliver when the red light comes on, the studio clock is running or an audience is waiting.
Alex Larke is a professional singer, recording artist, producer and vocal coach with nearly 30 years of stage and studio experience and nearly 20 years of coaching experience. He represented the United Kingdom at Eurovision and has performed internationally across Europe and beyond.
That first-hand experience shapes practical coaching for live performance, touring, recording, auditions, vocal stamina, microphones, interpretation and song preparation. Sessions are supportive and personal, but grounded in what singers need when the studio clock is running or an audience is waiting.
Alex understands the realities of long shows, difficult monitoring, studio pressure, television performances, nerves, tired voices and the need to deliver when it matters.
He does not coach from a spotless career, but from a lived one. Successes, difficult shows and the work of rebuilding have all developed the honesty, insight and understanding he brings to other singers.

More than 48 hours’ notice: Your session may be moved to another available appointment.
Less than 48 hours’ notice: The session is non-refundable unless the appointment is filled by another client.
Exceptional circumstances: Life happens. If a genuine emergency prevents you from attending, please get in touch as soon as possible. At my discretion, I may allow the booking to be moved or issue credit towards a future session. This is not automatic and cannot be guaranteed.
Any discretionary credit must be used within one month of the date it is issued. Alternative appointments are subject to availability.
Please arrive at your booked lesson time. The studio is private and has no waiting area, so if you arrive early, please wait nearby or in your car. Sessions start and finish at the booked time.
Your booking covers the coaching session only. Editing, tuning, comping, mixing, backing-track preparation, audio or video preparation, production and substantial work outside the session are charged separately and must be agreed in advance.
No. Sing Shack uses flexible online booking. Alex releases selected coaching appointments and you can choose whichever available date and time works for you.

In-person coaching takes place in Welwyn Garden City, convenient for singers from Welwyn, Harpenden, St Albans, Essendon, Brookmans Park, Hertford and surrounding Hertfordshire. Studio directions are shared after booking.
